Books Oprah Should Mention on her Show and in O Magazine

Why did I take so long to read Edward P. Jones's book, The Known World? In this book, Author Jones talked about black slave-owners in the Antebellum South. I think Oprah and her fans would find a lot to talk about should she invite Edward P Jones. Despite winning all the major literary awards there is to be won, why is it not made into a movie? Black on Black slavery in the South is not a topic that many historians wrote about. For many people, slavery was thought as the sole creation of the European or white folks. They do not understand that slavery flourished with the complicity of the African tribal chiefs, the needs for Europeans to grow more natural products such as sugar cane, cocoa for the Old world, greed, exploitation of a group with better education, equipment and weapon systems. The Known Word is a good book to read. Edward P. Jones also wrote, "All Aunt Hagar's children is a good book to read. He also wrote, "Lost in the City." l
